Flame retardants, giving a flammable polymer flame-retardant functional additives, are mainly for flame-retardant polymer materials design; According to the use of flame retardant, it can be divided to Adding and Reaction type.  

Flame retardant is added by mechanical mixing into the polymer, the adding type of flame retardant mainly including organic/inorganic flame retardants, halogenated flame retardants (organic chlorides and bromides) and non-halogen. Organic is bromine, nitrogen phosphorus, red phosphorus and nitrogen-based compounds and flame retardants represented inorganic mainly antimony trioxide, magnesium hydroxide, aluminum, silicon and other flame retardant system.
